Here is a step by step video guide to how I take photos with my SLR camera.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"560\" height=\"340\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"https:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/rD5n3g30YB8&hl=en_US&fs=1\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/rD5n3g30YB8&hl=en_US&fs=1\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" width=\"560\" height=\"340\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<h2>Notes from the Video<\/h2>\n<p>There are just three things you'll need to make outfit shots easier:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Camera: <\/strong>I use a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B00IB1BTWI\/?tag=btk-ifb-outfitpho-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canon EOS Digital Rebel<\/a>\u00a0(<em>updated).<\/em>\u00a0Most SLR's have remote capabilities, some point and shoots, check your product manuals to see if your camera does this. Always make sure when buying a new camera that it has remote options.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remote<\/strong> : To find a remote for your camera, you can just google your model + remote. This is what I came up with and use: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B00007EEA3\/?tag=btk-ifb-outfitpho-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canon Wireless RC1<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tripod<\/strong>: More important than you think, I've broken two cameras because I didn't use a remote (stupid wind!) It's an investment that's really worth it. This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B005KP473Q\/?tag=btk-ifb-outfitpho-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amazon Basics<\/a> model is well worth its price tag to save your camera!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Steps to taking your outfit photo:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Set up your camera where you want to take the photo<\/li>\n<li>Use a marker on the ground to do your light readings and where to frame your shot (to make the marker&#8230; use a rock, a line in the sidewalk, leaf, anything works)<\/li>\n<li>Go to your spot and take a test shot<\/li>\n<li>Check your photo to see if you're in the frame, the light is good, and you're in focus<\/li>\n<li>Go back to your spot and shoot away!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>This is the result from the shoot:<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-177329\" src=\"https:\/\/heartifb.com\/images\/girl-outfit.jpg\" alt=\"girl outfit\" width=\"600\" height=\"808\" srcset=\"https:\/\/heartifb.com\/images\/girl-outfit.jpg 600w, https:\/\/heartifb.com\/images\/girl-outfit-186x250.jpg 186w, https:\/\/heartifb.com\/images\/girl-outfit-22x30.jpg 22w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><br \/>\nThis photo I used for doing a review my new project, the eat, sleep, denim blog last week, so I really used, it.<\/p>\n<h3>How do you take your outfit photos?
